RUTH M. BYNUM

Ruth Minton Bynum, of Goldsboro, died on Sunday, March 20, 2005, following a short illness.

Ruth was the daughter of the late William Wesley Minton and Ruth Bizzell Minton and the wife of the late Edward Turner Bynum. She graduated from Goldsboro High School and received her BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ruth was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and was active in community affairs in Goldsboro, where she lived the last 15 years, and in Sanford where she lived for 42 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Bynum (Libbie) Ward and husband David Dockery Ward of Raleigh and their sons, David Dockery Ward, Jr. and John Borden Ward and by her son, George William Bynum and wife Patricia Rogers (Patty) Bynum and his children, Edward Turner Bynum II and Elizabeth Walker Bynum.

A celebration of her life will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Goldsboro at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with The Rev. Eugene Carpenter and The Rev. Bill Brettman presiding.
