MARGARET WESTBROOK

Margaret Sanderson Westbrook, 75, of 640 Westbrook Dairy Road in the Grantham community, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 at Selah Christian Church in Grantham, where she was a lifelong member. Burial will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Westbrook was born in Wayne County on Sept. 23, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Ernest Kennedy Sanderson and Donnie Hood Sanderson. She graduated from Grantham High School, attended the Woman's College in Greensboro and graduated from Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Her nursing career included work at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Cherry Hospital, Johnston County Health Department and Johnston Memorial Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Woodall Westbrook; a sister-in-law, Doris Smith Sanderson; and a brother-in-law, Seth David Westbrook. She

Her survivors include a son, Jeffery Woodall Westbrook of Goldsboro; a daughter, Rose Westbrook Kornegay of Camden, son-in-law, James Walton "Pete" Kornegay, and her grandson, Benjamin James Kornegay; a brother, Joseph Ernest Sanderson of Grantham; brother-in-law, Grover Bayard Westbrook Jr. of Grantham; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Renfrow Westbrook of Grantham, Edna Thornton Westbrook of Grantham and Ruth Worley Westbrook of Rosewood; special cousins, Peggy Holder Mattocks of Clinton, Jean Holder Marshall of Charlotte and Jane Holder Slaton of Redlands, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the church following the service tonight, and other times at the residence.

West & Dunn Funeral Home in Newton Grove is serving the family.
