OSCAR HOUSTON

WARSAW -- The funeral for Oscar Alois Houston, 77, will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Community Funeral Home in Warsaw. The Rev. Larry Miller will officiate. Burial will be on Wednesday morning at 10 at the Devotional Gardens and the Rev. Maynard Quinn will officiate at that service.

Mr. Houston died Sunday at the North Carolina State Veterans Nursing Home in Fayetteville.

He was a native of Duplin County and was the son of William Oscar and Dessie Lee Wilson Houston.

His survivors include his wife, Ruth Bishop Houston of the home; one daughter, Rhonda Houston Owen and husband Billy of Fayetteville; one son, Michael Houston of Kenansville; one brother, Lattie Houston of Kenansville; three grandchildren, Shalon Roberson, Brittany Houston and Chance Houston; and one great-grandchild, Owen Brewer Roberson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert Houston and Byron Houston, and two sisters, Ardolia Jones and Jessie Williford.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service tonight until 9 p.m., and other times at 129 Houston Lane, Kenansville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 208, Raleigh, N.C., 27605.
