LESTER G. WADE

KINSTON -- Lester G. Wade, 69, of 500 Pear St., died Friday, March 11, 2005 at his home.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Murphy Wade and Annie Smith Radford.

Lester served four years with the US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He served thirty eight years as a mail carrier with the US Postal Service. Lester was a member and former Governor of the Kinston Moose Lodge.

A funeral service will be held Monday, March 14, 2005, at 2 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.

Lester is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy C. Wade; four children, Roger Glenn Wade of Fayetteville, Scott Eric Wade and wife Donna, of Garner, Lee Allen Wade of Kinston, and Becky Carol Wade Goodyear and husband, Scott, of Kinston; three half sisters, Barbara Ann Hinson, Mary Elizabeth Catlette and Linda Wade Grady and husband, Robert, all of Kinston; half brother, David Earl Wade and wife, Jan, of Kinston; step-brother, Edward Radford and wife, Mary of Stantonsburg; six grandchildren, Brandon Wade and wife, Barbara, Gary Lenhart, Chris Wade, Craig Wade, Amber Wiggins and Britney Goodyear; two great-grandchildren, Kyla Obenchain and Tyler Obenchain.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, La Grange.
