ROBERT E. RICE
Robert Eugene Rice, 73, of 107 Pleasant Ridge Road, died Friday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Perry, Ill., to the late Bertie and Lora Goddard Rice, and was father of the late Donna Lane. He was a former security guard with Budd Security and a member of Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church.
A funeral service will be held this evening at 7 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Barry House will officiate. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae Gardner Rice; four sons, Robert Eugene Jr. and wife, Sharon Rice of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Donald Dwayne and wife, April Rice of Kentucky, Dennis D. and wife, Carolyn Rice of Illinois, Ronald Wayne and wife, Faye Rice of Kentucky; three daughters, Sandra Kaye Rice of Tennessee, Shirley Ann Rice of Fairfield, Ill., Rebecca and husband, Louie Brown of Goldsboro; two brothers, Douglas Rice of Nashville, and Bill Rice of Illinois; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends this evening following the service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Rebecca and Louie Brown, 227 US Hwy. 13 S., Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 971, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.
