ELLEN S. PELT
Ellen Smith Pelt, 78, of 1005 Eleventh Street, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A native of Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late George Henry Smith and Ruth Radford Smith and was married to the late Johnnie Lee Pelt. She was a homemaker.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Rick Mondell officiating.
Mrs. Pelt is survived by her son, Johnnie Ray Pelt, and his wife, Peggy, of Pikeville; her daughter, Emma Talmage of New Bern; and 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth P. Howell, three sons, Malcolm Pelt, Wayne Pelt and Bobby Pelt, and one grandson, Kirk Wrenn Pelt.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
