DONALD ODOM SR.

PRINCETON -- Donald Ray Odom Sr., 72, died Monday.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The Rev. Leslie Holt and Rodney Pearce will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Selma Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Odom was a native of Johnston County and was the son of the late John Smith and Carrie Worley Odom. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by one son, Donald Ray Odom Jr. of Princeton; one daughter, Kathy Sue Mitchell of Pine Level; one brother, James Odom of Smithfield; five sisters, Mary R. Bizzell and Matilda Radford of Princeton, Elizabeth Radford of Goldsboro, Brenda Gurley of Smithfield and Ila Hill of Goldsboro; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service on Thursday evening.
