Barbara Washington Wilder, 60, of 1806 Mark Edwards Road, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital

She was born in Wayne County to the late Roscoe Washington Sr. and Eunice Croom Washington and mother of the late Angelo Washington. She was formerly employed with Textilease, Fremont Rest Home and Sutton's Rest Home.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Barnes officiating.

Mrs. Wilder is survived by her husband, Carnell Wilder; one son, Robert Washington, and his wife, Derose Yelverton Washington of Goldsboro; three brothers, Roscoe Washington Jr. of Dudley, William Worthy Washington of Washington, D.C., and Edward Gene Washington of Ohio; four grandchildren, Takesha Washington, Erika Washington, Robert Washington Jr. and Kiara Washington; and an aunt, Virginia Young of Goldsboro.

Family members will greet friends at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home immediately following the memorial service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of her son, Robert Washington, 1616 Palm Street, Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the Wilder family requests memorial gifts be directed to Alzheimer's Research, Duke University Center, Bryan ADRC, 2200 W. Main Street, Suite A-230, Durham, N.C., 27705.
