STANLEY SANDERSON

MOUNT OLIVE -- Stanley Sanderson, 88, died Wednesday at SunBridge Care Center in Mount Olive.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Paul Rose officiating. Burial will be in Pate Cemetery.

Mr. Sanderson was a retired farmer and logger.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Annette S. and Edward Holmes Jr., Peggy S. Padgett, and Janice S. and Curtis Brock Sr., all of Mount Olive; his son and daughters-in-law, Durwood "Tommy" and Rita Sanderson, and Bertha Sanderson, all of Mount Olive; a sister, Doris Kornegay of Kenansville; a brother, Arthur Thigpen of Calypso; and 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Ward Sanderson; a son, Milton "Terrapin" Sanderson; his parents, Bryant Sanderson and Carrie Moody Sanderson Thigpen; and two sisters, Vera Mae Thigpen and Mildred King.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 until 9, and other times at the home of Janice and Curt Brock, 2928 Summerlin's Crossroads Road, Mount Olive.
