ANNE G. SMITH
Anne G. Smith, 71, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral was held the following Sunday in the chapel of Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home. Burial was in Winterville Cemetery in Winterville.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Wayne County. Her parents were the late Walter and Sarah Grady. After the death of her husband, Garland V. "Bud" Smith Sr., in 1975, she began attending Breadloaf Bible College, where she earned a degree and later taught. She was the supervisor at Bowers Memorial Group Home.
Her survivors include three sons, Vernon Smith and Stephen Smith of Greensboro and Bill Smith of Burlington; and five grandchildren.
The family received friends at Hanes-Linberry following the funeral.
