JAMES S. DAVIS
James Samuel Davis, 76, of 983 N.C. 581 North, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lutrell Spell officiating. Burial will be in Davis Family Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was a native of Wayne County and was the son of the late Emmett and Vera Deans Davis. He was a retired farmer and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Marie Sauls Davis, and a brother, Calvin Davis.
He is survived by his sons and their wives, Freddie Davis of Raleigh and Diane Davis of Fremont, Emmett Ray Davis and Anne Marie Davis of Goldsboro and Brian Davis of the home; and his grandchildren, Chris Davis, Daniel Davis, Christy Jones, Adam McCullen Davis and Hannah Marie Davis.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial donations may be made the North Carolina Chapter of Leukemia Society, 5624 Executive Center Drive, S-100, Charlotte, N.C., 28212
