LAGRANGE -- The funeral for Helen Sutton Stanton, 77, of Milledgevile, Ga., will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. The Reverends Jerry Mitchell and Malbert Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Stanton died Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia.
A former resident of the Bucklesberry Community near LaGrange, Mrs. Stanton was born Jan. 29, 1927, in Greensboro to the late Clifton Rinehart Sutton and Mary Lucile Pickard Sutton. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Washington Stanton III; son, James Washington Stanton; three sisters, Mary Francis Carruthers, Jean Varner and Anne Hester; along with two brothers, Clifton Rinehart Sutton Jr. and William Pickard Sutton.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons, Helen Lee Bogusky and husband, Ken, Sarah Elizabeth Stanton, Robert Michael Stanton and wife, Sherrie, Louise Catherine Gallagan and husband, Frank, and Christopher Scott Stanton and wife, Donna; one sister, Emily Kester, of High Point; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Rouse Funeral Home on Thursday from noon until time for the service.
