KENANSVILLE -- Janie S. Bland, 97, died Wednesday at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Dobson Chapel Baptist Church, Magnolia. Burial will be in Blands Cemetery.
Mrs. Bland was the daughter of the late I.N. Sandlin and Rebecca Annie Rochelle Sandlin of Duplin County and was the widow of Davis Bland Sr.
She is survived by one daughter, Pauline Bland Nethercutt, and her husband, Eugene, of Magnolia; two sons, Davis Bland Jr., and his wife, Janice, and Robert Bland and his wife, Millie, all of Magnolia; six grandchildren, Timmy Nethercutt, Jennifer Bland Sutton, Keith Bland, Mark Bland, Joan Nethercutt Barnette and Amy Bland Wise; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Dobson Chapel Baptist Church, and other times at the home of Eugene and Pauline Nethercutt, 1144 Dobson Chapel Road, Magnolia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dobson Chapel Baptist Church, 1473 Highway 50 South, Magnolia.
