ROBERT L. DIEHL

Mr. Robert Lee Diehl, 69, of 347 Forrest Knolls Road, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Diehl was born in Blue Knob, Pennsylvania, to his parents, David Clair Diehl and Nellie Evelyn George Diehl. He entered the United States Air Force in 1953 and retired from active service as Master Sergeant in 1976. He served his country proudly. Mr. Diehl was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Force Commendation Medal, The Air Medal with Six Oak Leaf Clusters.

Mr. Diehl was a loving husband, father and friend. He gave freely without asking anything in return. He will be missed dearly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Severiana Lopez Diehl; his children and their families, David and Julie A. Diehl of Columbus, Ohio, Jerry and Lynne C. Diehl of Apex, Kenneth and Donna H. Diehl of Clayton and John Diehl of Franklinton; his mother, Evelyn Diehl of Dover, Del.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Diehl, Christopher Diehl, Daniela Diehl, David Diehl, Jr., Michelle Diehl, Mary Diehl, Jonathan Diehl, Zachary Diehl, Amber Diehl, Megan Diehl, and Daniel Diehl; his great-granddaughter, Melinda Buckner; his brothers, David Diehl and Terry Diehl, both of Dover, Del.; and his sisters, Elizabeth Gravely of Jefferson, Md., Linda Rash of Wyoming, Del., Karen Gary of Hartley, Del.,, Sherry Gary of Wyoming, Del., and Barbara Cullum of Hagerstown, Md.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
