LAGRANGE -- The funeral for Nikita Shantel Pearson will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Alpha & Omega Christian Center on Clingman Street. Pastor Frank M. Dawson will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park. She died Monday from injuries received in an automobile accident.

She was the 6-year-old daughter of Glenn and Bonita Ann Pearson of 3061 New Hope Road and was a kindergarten student at Carver Elementary School.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her maternal grandparents, Lee and Shirley Eure of Mount Olive; her paternal grandmother, Annie M. Pearson of Goldsboro; three aunts and their husbands, Lynette E. and Frank Dawson of Goldsboro, Ava and Ronald Barnes of Montross, Va., and Gloria D. and Fred Linsy of Atlanta, Ga.; four uncles, Zachary Eure of Calypso, Wayne Eure of Warsaw, Sherman M. Pearson of Hampton, Va., and Robert Lee Pearson of Big Stone Gap, Va.; several great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins; and many friends.

The viewing hours will be from 3 until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and from 7 until 8 on Thursday night at Alpha and Omega Christian Center, where the family will receive friends. At other times the family will be at at home of Pastor Frank and Lynette Dawson at 104 Harding Place in Goldsboro.
