MAE LIZZIE BARNES
The funeral service for Mae Lizzie Barnes was held Saturday at noon at Eastern Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Timothy Dortch officiated. Burial was in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Barnes died Monday.
She was the daughter of Lillie Florence McCray of Loris, S.C., and the late Zack McCray.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Barnes is survived by her husband, Odell Barnes Sr. of the home; six daughters, Patricia Barnes and Bertha Howell of Goldsboro, Lillie Conner of Aurora, Colo., Helena Barnes of Connecticut, Linda Wolfe of Florence, S.C., and Gloria Cribbs of Chadbourne; three sons, Odis Barnes of Goldsboro, Roy Barnes of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jerry McCray of Whiteville; four sisters, Lena Wilson, Martha Wilson, Mildred Scott and Alice Scott of Loris, S.C.; two brothers, LeVerne McCray and Roy McCray of Loris, S.C.; and 26 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
A viewing was held on Friday from 2 until 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries, followed by visitation with the family from 6 until 7.
