THOMAS McCLARIN

Thomas McClarin, formerly of Goldsboro, died on December 30 in Washington, D.C.

The funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at Marshall's Funeral Home in Washington. Burial, with military honors, will be held Tuesday in Quantico, Va.

Mr. McClarin was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired as a supply chief at the Pentagon with the Department of the Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and James McClarin, and his siblings, Essie Brown, Hattie McClarin, Roberta Shanks and James McClarin.

His survivors include a number of nieces and nephews, including Louise Gilbert of Maryland and the Rev. Richard Brown of Louisana, and cousins.
