CARL JENNINGS
Retired Air Force Tech. Sgt. Carl Bruce Jennings, 76, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The funeral, with military honors, was to be held today at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. David Jackson officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Indiana.
Mr. Jennings was a native of Norfolk, Va., and was the son of the late Thomas Carl and Lena Allsbrook Jennings. A veteran of the United States Navy and Air Force, he served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, and retired with 25 years of service. While in the Navy, he worked as a fireman's apprentice and received the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Medal. In the Air Force, he worked as a protective equipment supervisor and received the National Defense Medal, the War World II Medal, the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. After retiring from the Air Force, he was employed in supply with civil service at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Huff Jennings; two sons, Bruce Wayne Jennings of Illinois and Carl Neil Jennings of Goldsboro; two sisters, Marie Bourm of Norfolk, Va., and Merium Berry of Virginia Beach, Va.; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family was to receive friends at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home immediately following service today, and other times at the residence at 119 Daleview Drive.
