ALBERT R. WADE

LAGRANGE -- Albert Russell Wade, 85, of 504 West Boundary St., died today at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. The Reverends Brad Williamson and Jerry Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Wade was the son of the late Joseph and Sally Miller Wade. He as a member of LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired carpenter. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia Herring Wade, and is survived by two daughters, Barbara Corbett, and her husband, Steve, of LaGrange and Brenda Vinson and her husband, Russell, of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Andrea Nikole Vinson, Melanie Hope Heath and Russ Hunter Vinson; two great-grandchildren, Avery Faulkner and Caleb Heath; three sisters, Louise Howell of Fremont, Dorothy Lockamy of Kinston and Sally Ruth Scott of LaGrange; and a brother, Ben Wade of Grifton.

The family will receive friends at Rouse Funeral Home following the service on Saturday night, and at other times at the residence.
