CLEVE H. CREECH

LAGRANGE -- Cleve Harper Creech, 69, of 404 Ben Dail Road, died Sunday at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell officiating.

Mr. Creech was born in Lenoir County to the late Harry Harper Creech and Sally D. White Rouse. He graduated from LaGrange High School and East Carolina University and served 23 years with the Lenoir County School System. He was a teacher and coach at Grainger, LaGrange and North Lenoir High schools from 1959 until 1971 and was principal of North Lenoir High School from 1972 until 1982. He was an avid outdoorsman.

Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Lee Creech of the home, and Elizabeth Creech Gunn and her husband, Bradford, of Raleigh; and two nephews Jerry Mannen of Wilmington and Josh Mannen of Raleigh.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Harriette Creech Mannen.

The family will receive friends at Rouse Funeral Home following the service on Wednesday afternoon.
