FRANCES BRYAN

LAGRANGE -- Frances Gray Bryan, 90, of 617 North Caswell St., died Thursday at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in Kinston.

The funeral will be held by the graveside on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, with Father Nicholas Sorensen officiating.

Mrs. Bryan was born in Lenoir County to the late Adolph Lee Gray and Mary Baugham Gray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R. Bryan; son, Robert Gray Bryan; sister, Mary Gray Hill and brothers, Eugene Hamilton Gray and Adolph Harper Gray.

Mrs. Bryan graduated from Meredith College and later received a master's degree from East Carolina University. She served 37 years in North Carolina Public Schools as a teacher and guidance counselor. She was a member of All Saints Orthodox Church in Raleigh.

Surviving are three nephews, Eugene Hamilton Gray Jr., Adolph Harper Gray Jr. and Michael Hill; six nieces, Jeanne Gray Peacock, Betty Gray Parker, Mary Margaret Gray Kendrick, Julia Gray Sutton, Sara Gray Singleton and Elizabeth Hill Klekowski; and six great-nieces and great-nephews, along with four great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Rouse Funeral Home.
