SMITHFIELD -- Leila Williams Smith, 72, of 811 Blount St., died last Saturday at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be held this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Mitchener Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith was born in Jones County and was the daughter of the late David and Eva William Williams and the widow of Usher Smith. She was employed by K.R. Edwards Industry for many years.
She is survived by four daughters, Ernestine Barrett of Selma, Barbara Soto of Fremont, Cherry Torres of Apex and Patricia Atkinson of Goldsboro; two sons, Quincy Smith and Walter Smith of Smithfield; two stepdaughters, Minnie Howard of Dunn and Sarah Hamilton of Smithfield; and 29 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 until 7 p.m. at Walter Sanders Funeral Home.
