EVELYN CASTLEBURY
RALEIGH -- Evelyn Thompson Castlebury, widow of Frank David Castlebury Jr., of Raleigh died on Sunday.
She was a native of Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Alice Herring Thompson. She graduated from East Carolina Teachers College and taught elementary school for a number of years in Wayne and Wake counties.
Following a 9 a.m. burial service at Montlawn Memorial Park, a memorial service will be held on Thursday at 10 at Westover United Methodist Church, where she was a member. The family will greet friends afterward at a reception at the church.
Surviving are two sons, Frank David Castlebury III of Apex and Fleming Thompson Castlebury of Winston-Salem; a sister, Mary Ward of Raleigh; a brother, W.S. Thompson of Atlanta; and a granddaughter.
