ELSIE HADDOCK

GRIMESLAND -- Elsie Rouse Haddock, 77, sister of Claude Rouse of Goldsboro, died Thursday.

The funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Wilkerson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, N.C.

Mrs. Haddock was a native of Beaufort County and was the daughter of the late Claude and Rosabell Rouse. She graduated from Washington High School and had made her home in the Grimesland community for the past 59 years. She was a longtime member of Proctor Memorial Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, was member of the Christian Women's Fellowship and served on the Administrative Board.

Surviving, in addition to her brother, are husband, Grover Cleveland Haddock; daughter, Lou Anna Hardee of Greenville; son, Grover Cleveland "Cleve" Haddock Jr. of Greenville; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville.
