DUDLEY -- Evon Fields Parker, 59, of 3244 Arrington Bridge Road, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held Friday at noon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Goldsboro, where she was a member. Dr. Kenneth Tate will officiate. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. Parker was born in Wayne County on July 13, 1945, to Mary Campbell Fields and the late Eddie Fields Sr. She graduated from Carver High School in 1963 and was a graduate of Wayne Community College and Fayetteville State University. She was formerly employed with Wayne Memorial Hospital as unit secretary and worked for 27 years as a teacher's assistant at Grantham School.

She is survived by one son, Steven Parker, and his wife, Kim, of Goldsboro; her mother and step-father, Mary Fields Lofton and King Lofton of Seven Springs; three brothers, Joseph Britton, and his wife, Glayde, of Goldsboro, Jimmie Fields and his wife, Edna, of Greensboro and Eddie Fields Jr. of Seven Springs; three sisters, Shirley Fields Bond, and her husband, Thomas, of Dudley, Delores Napper and her husband, George, of Seven Springs and Bertha Fields of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Steven Jr., Rashad and Tiarra Alexis; an aunt, Blanche Bowden; two uncles, Henry Bowden and Garfield Bizzell Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Doretha Brewington.

The viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church on Elm Street. The family will be receiving friends at 3244 Arrington Bridge Road in Dudley today from 1 until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m.
