IRENE DIGGS
The funeral for Irene Johnson Diggs, 71, of 200 W. Short St., Mount Olive, will be held Wednesday at the Bear Creek Headquarters Building at 1800 S. Slocumb St. The Rev. Antonio Lawrence will officiate. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Diggs died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Johnson Sr. and Nona Hodges Johnson.
Surviving are two brothers, Willie Johnson Jr. of Goldsboro and Charles S. Johnson of Raleigh; and five sisters, Fannie M. Winn of Dudley, Margaret Sallie of Portsmith, Va., Cleo Bowden of Mount Olive, Mary Brite Moore of Washington, D.C., and Peggy J. Fennell of Pawling, N.Y.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8 at the First Congregational Church in Dudley, and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1045, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.
