JESSIE CHASE

EUREKA -- Jessie "J.B." Bogue Chase, 91, died Saturday at Britthaven of Goldsboro.

A funeral service will be held this evening at 7 at Howell Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Fletcher will officiate. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Eureka Cemetery in Eureka.

Mr. Chase was born in Wayne County on April 22, 1913, to the late Leslie and Pearl Bogue Chase. He was an avid farmer and a member of Eureka United Methodist Church.

He is survived by one son, Jesse Chase and wife, Mamie of Eureka; two daughters, Annette Winders and husband, Kenneth of Farmville, and Diane Forehand and husband, Mike of Belfast; four grandchildren, Randy Chase of Goldsboro, Greg Chase of Clayton, Christy Winders of Farmville, and Angela Link of Texas; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Chase was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Holland Chase; three sisters, Louise Mooring, Agnes Chase and Edna Jordan; and one brother, Zachery Chase.

The family will receive friends following the service at Howell Funeral Home and other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Jesse and Mamie Chase, 3006 N.C. 222 East in Eureka.
