LILA SYKES
Lila Armstrong Sykes, 93, of 913 Isler St., died Wednesday.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of McIntyre Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Ms Sykes worked for Paramount Cleaners for 42 years.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Jones and Louis Armstrong, and is survived by one sister Annie Pearl Vaughn of Goldsboro, one grandson, Chester (Yelonda) Armstrong Sr. of Goldsboro; four granddaughters, Gloria Evans, Elizabeth (Harold) Isler and Doris Hinnant of Goldsboro; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren, a very special friend and neighbor, Helen Mae Simms, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends today from 6 until 7 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home.
