HAYWOOD ROSE

Haywood Benton Rose, 79, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A native of Wayne County, he was the son of the late Hardy Rose and Minnie Evans Rose.

Mr. Rose was retired from Wayne Poultry Company and Rose's Auto Service in Goldsboro. He was also a member of First Christian Church.

He served in the United States Army during World War II.

A funeral service will be held Monday evening at 7 at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Fred Clarke officiating. Interment will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Rose is survived by his wife, Rose Grantham Rose; his children, Kay Hill and husband, Charles of Pine Level, Clarence Rose and wife, Jan of Goldsboro, Connie Carter and husband, Gene of Ashland, Va., and Tim Rose and wife, Gale of Goldsboro; one brother, Ray Rose of Goldsboro; one sister, Paulene Peacock of Kenly; five grandchildren, April Jones and husband, Tim, Ashlee Hill, Sarah Carter, Clark Rose, and Allison Rose; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Jones and Hunter Jones.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 1604 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 1609 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
