COOLIDGE POWERS

WALLACE -- Harding "H.C." Coolidge Powers, of H.C. Powers Road, died Friday at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Powers was born Dec. 21, 1921, to the late Jestus and Irene S. Powers.

He served in the U S Army for four years during World War II, and was a retired educator and former county commissioner.

Mr. Powers is survived by two daughters, Rosalind Anderson and Anita Branch, both of Wallace; two sons, Ronald Powers of Wilmington, Del., and Larry Powers of Gaithersburg, Md.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Northington Powers.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 at Matthews Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Adoram Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Powers Family Cemetery.
