HAZEL SIMMONS

Hazel Lorene Moose Simmons, 85, of 204 Raintree Lane, formerly of Taylorsville, died Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Alexander County and a former resident of Taylorsville, Mrs. Simmons was the daughter of the late Carl Mack and Bertha Watts Moose and was the widow of Rayford L. Simmons.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorsville and had attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church since moving to Goldsboro. She retired from Carolina Glove Company.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Bo (Miriam) Wessell of Goldsboro; a sister, Lola M. Watts of Taylorsville; and one granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at Taylorsville Cemetery on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Steve Dagenhart of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends afterward.

A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Goldsboro on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor William Ordelt officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
