LUCAMA -- Louise Peedin Futrell, 91, died Sunday at Nash Rehab and Nursing Center.

A gathering to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shackleford Funerals and Cremations in Fremont. The Rev. Gene Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Futrell was born in Wayne County on Nov. 19, 1912, to Isaac and Dora Denkins Peedin. She was the widow of Charles Futrell and was a member of White Oak Presbyterian Church.

Her survivors include a daughter, Betty Futrell Ball of Louisburg; three sons, Brantley Futrell of Lucama, Henry Futrell of Wilson and Gerald Futrell of Jacksonville; a sister, Dora Phillips of Bennettsville, S.C.; and seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
