NOVELLA DAVIS
Novella P. Kirkman Davis, 97, died Wednesday.
She was a member of St. Mark Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, and its Mother Board. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Davis, two children, Annie Gertrude Dockins and Donald and Jesse Miller, and her siblings, Viola and Elijah Kirkman, Mary K. Brown and Malissa K. Exum.
She is survived by her granddaughters, whom she reared, Brenda Sutton Williamson and Deborah Dockins Givens of Raleigh; one grandson, Sean N. Miller of Dale City, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Mary C. Miller of Dale City, Va.; one sister-in-law, Pauline Kirkman of Kinston; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a number of relatives and friends.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 9 p.m. on Sunday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel and the family will be present to receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m.
The Celebration of Life and Homegoing Service will be held at noon on Monday at St. Mark Church of Christ, 700 W. Ash St. Bishop Alton Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park North on Old Grantham Road.
