EVERAGE BROWN SR.

WILSON -- Everage Brown Sr., 76, of 1506 Coleman St., Wilson, N.C., died Sunday, September 26, at the Wilson Medical Center.

Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 South Tarboro Street. Dr. Naverro Brown will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Hamilton Burial Gardens, Wilson.

Mr. Brown was reared in Alabama. He was a cement finisher by trade but a handyman at heart because he loved helping people.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Viola Hill Brown of the home; four daughters, Dorothy Brown of St. Petersburg, Fla., Hazel Clara Brown of West Palm Beach, Fla., Margaret "Cookie" Brown Hamilton of Quincy, Fla., and Victoria Brown Ivery (Harold) of Wilson, N.C.; five sons, Andrew Brown of Quincy, Fla, Nevarro Brown (Beverly) of Kenansville, N.C., Bernard Brown (Cinda) of Tampa, Fla., Gregory D. Brown of Cleveland, Ohio, and Everage Top Brown Jr. (Mishondy) of Wilson, N.C.; one brother, Fred Brown of Kansas City, Mo.; mother-in-law, Mattie Reed Hill of Wilson, N.C.; 36 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a special great-nephew, Devonta Brown; and a host of other special relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be Friday from 3 until 9 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel.

The family will receive friends at the residence of Victoria Ivery, 409 Dewey Street, Wilson, where they will assemble one hour prior to the service.
