Karen Denise Capps, 42, of 126 Bennett Farm Lane, died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Illinois to Edna Earl Kennedy Capps and the late Charles Capps. She was a member of Black Jack Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Felipe Daniel Capps of the home; one daughter, Kelly Marie Capps of the home; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles Anthony "Andy" and Linda Capps of Goldsboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Mike Mozingo of Goldsboro; a special cousin, Rene Kennedy of Princeton; and special friends, Sharon, Janet, Lena and Doris.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The Rev. Jason Sherman will officiate. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service on Wednesday night, and at other times at the home of Mike and Phyllis Mozingo, 136 Bennett Farm Lane, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions be made to the Felipe and Kelly Capps Scholarship Fund, Southern Bank and Trust, 100 N. Center St., Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
