MYRTLE GODWIN

PRINCETON -- The funeral for Myrtle Ruth Davis Godwin, 76, was held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial was today at 11 a.m. in Princeton Cemetery.

Mrs. Godwin died Tuesday.

She was a native of Wayne County, born on July 24, 1928, to the late William and Molly Bradford Davis, and was the widow of Ransom Marion Godwin.

She is survived by a son, Larry Godwin, and his wife, Kay, of Angier; two daughters, Sarah Waters, and her husband, Gerald, of Pine Level and Wilma Allen and her husband, Steve, of Smithfield; a daughter-in-law, Denise Godwin-Sistar of Goldsboro; a brother, Aaron Davis of Smithfield; a sister, Ethel Edwards of Goldsboro; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Godwin.

The family will received friends at the funeral home immediately following the service on Thursday, and other times at the home of Sarah and Gerald Waters, 444 W. Blanche St., Pine Level.
