RAY D. SHERROD
FREMONT -- The funeral for Ray Dudley Sherrod, 62, will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Fremont. The Rev. J.C. Sherrod and the Rev. Bennie Smith Jr. will officiate. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Sherrod Family Cemetery, Stantonsburg.
Mr. Sherrod died Tuesday.
He is survived by a son, Maurice Seibles of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Donovan Sherrod of Ossing, N.Y.; three sisters, Belva McKenzie of New York and Brenda Smith and Sheila Mitchell of Goldsboro; two uncles, the Rev. J.C. Sherrod of Goldsboro and Herbert D. Sherrod of Stantonsburg; two aunts, Hula B. Cherry of Goldsboro and Blanche Horne of Stantonsburg; and a granddaughter.
The viewing hours will be from 3 until 9 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., Goldsboro. The family will be present to receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m.
