ELIZABETH O. KEEFE

KINSTON -- Elizabeth Odom Keefe, 80, of 301 Summit Ave., died Friday at Kinston Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 372 Academy Heights, in Kinston. Committal services will be held immediately following the funeral mass at Westview Cemetery.

She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She proudly served her country during World War II in the Women's Army Corps, and worked many years as a health service provider.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Odom; husband, Kenneth C. Keefe; two brothers, James Odom and Wallace Tyner; one sister, Georgia McLeod, and one granddaughter, April Keefe.

She is survived by three sons, Michael Keefe of Milledgeville, Ga., Patrick Keefe and wife, Corliss, of Dudley, and Timothy Keefe of Melbourne, Fla.; two daughters, Katherine Jernigan and husband, Rex, of Pikeville, and Rita Boyette of Pink Hill; two sisters, Betty Jo Bass and husband, Malcolm, of Kinston, and Ruth Bowie of Round O, S.C.; eight grandchildren, Melissa Carter and husband, Pat, of Hinesville, Ga., Meg Kidd and husband, Jeff, of Pikeville, Sharon Williams and husband, Drew, of Wilmington, Joey Keefe of Dudley, Crystal Marshall and husband, Joey, of Snow Hill, Laura Blalock and husband, Ed, of Pink Hill, Amber Tyndall of Pink Hill, and Justin Keefe of Goldsboro; 10 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Dylan Carter, Alana and Hailey Marshall, Marie and Makayla Kidd, John and Ashlyn Williams, and Gavin and Cody Blalock; two very special nieces/godchildren, Joyce Kellum and husband, Charles, and Frances Faulkner and husband, Harvey; and a very special great-great-niece Jenny Allen.

The family will be receiving friends immediately following the committal service at 1005 Brentwood Drive in Kinston.

Memorial gifts may be directed to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
