DELIA P. LAYDEN

LAGRANGE -- Delia Pelletier Layden, 95, of 4899 Brothers Road, died Monday at Kinston Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. The Rev. Brad Williamson will officiate. Interment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Layden was born in Lenoir County to the late Robert and Myrtle Dawson Pelletier. She was wife of the late Winbourne Tully Layden and was a member of LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church. She worked as a caretaker for both the young and elderly for many years and enjoyed gardening and caring for her yard and flowers.

Her survivors include three sons, Griffin Layden and wife, Vivian, Homer Layden and wife, Virginia, and Karroll Layden and wife, Lorretta, all of LaGrange; three sisters, Myrtle Geiger of New Bern and Hazel Pelletier and Helen Pelletier of LaGrange; nine grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Rouse Funeral Home following the service tonight, and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karroll Layden, 4891 Brothers Road, LaGrange.
