DUDLEY -- Evelyn Dean Jones Howell, 70, of 109 Nugget Drive, died Tuesday at home.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The Rev. Allen Stanley and Leon Bryan will officiate.

Mrs. Howell was born in Wayne County to the late Thad and Nellie Warren Jones and was married to the late Billy Munroe Howell. She was a dedicated member of Mays Chapel Original Baptist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, the Benevolence Committee and the NTO Club.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Otis Jones, and one sister, Helen Sutton.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Michael Vaughan of Dudley and Vickie and Troy Lee of Dudley; one special sister-in-law, Annie Rose Glover of Beaufort, N.C.; two sisters, Edna Deans of Goldsboro and Pearl Herring of Goldsboro; three grandchildren, Deana and Wallace Kraft of Dudley, Michelle and Brian Woodall of Smithfield and Chris and Danielle Vaughan of Pikeville; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Kraft and Noah Vaughan.

The family will be receiving friends Friday night from 7 and 9 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the home.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Mays Chapel Church, 3831 US 117 South Alternate, Dudley, N.C., 28333; or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
