NADINE S. THOMAS

Nadine Smith Thomas, 89, a resident of the Brian Center died Saturday, July 31, 2004.

A native of Colquitt County, Georgia, Mrs. Thomas was born April 14, 1915 to the late Elzie Wright Plymel and Golie Bell Martin Plymel. She was the widow of William Calvin Smith, Sr.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 5, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home in Moultrie, Ga. Burial will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her children, Horace Smith and wife, Mary of Moultrie, Ga., Patricia Young and husband, Larry of Cocoa, Fla., William C. Smith and wife, Judy of Atlanta, Ga., Sandra Coletrain and husband, Charles, of Goldsboro, Donnie Smith of Oregon, Connie Crawford and husband, Albert, of Goldsboro, and Fonnie Williams and husband, Les, of Eufaula, Ala.; her brothers, Lawrence Plymel and wife, Evelyn, of Moultrie, Ga., Nathaniel Plymel of Atlanta, Ga., and Harvey Plymel of Cocoa, Fla.; her sister, Mary Smith of Cocoa, Fla.; and 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Joan Daly of Goldsboro.

The family would like to give special thanks to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church Family, the Brian Center Alzheimer's Unit Staff and the special ones who loved their mother and who kept her Big Smile Beaming each day. The family would also like to give special thanks to Dr. Robert Owens for his tender care for their mother. As Mrs. Thomas became unable to attend church, special thanks would like to be given to those who brought church to her.

Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her grandson, Gray Crawford; her brothers, Clyde Plymel and Chester Plymel; and her sister, Margaret Yancey. Memorials may be given in memory of Mrs. Thomas to the Eastern Alzheimer's Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Suite 208, Raleigh, N.C., 27605.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home in Moultrie, Ga..
