JERRY K. HOWELL
Jerry Keith Howell, 59, of 302 S. Harding Drive, died Tuesday in Sarasota, Fla., after a short battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Goldsboro to Mildred Moore Howell of New Port Richey, Fla., and the late Lester Herbert Howell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and had worked at General Electric in Goldsboro for 37 years. He also worked for Goldsboro News-Argus as a photographer and columnist covering the NASCAR racing circuit.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home . The Rev. Jack Sauls will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Les H. Howell of Sarasota, Fla.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Seymour Funeral Home.
