MAYBELLE H. HOLMES

Maybelle Hoffman Holmes, 83, of 247 South Hillcrest Drive, died Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at her home.

Mrs. Holmes was a graduate of Watts Hospital, and a retired RN with the public health department of Wayne County. She was a charter member of Northview Christian Church (known now as Northview Baptist Church) where she taught an adult Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Holmes, her sister, Ovella H. Taylor, and her brothers, Herbert Hoffman and H.A. Hoffman.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2004, at Northview Baptist Church in Goldsboro with Reverend Frank Purvis and Reverend Wesley Johnson officiating.

Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Wayne Memorial Park with Reverend Wesley Johnson and Dr. Ned Sauls officiating.

Survivors include her sisters, Sybil H. Langston of Greensboro, Virginia H. Perry of Kinston, Evelyn H. Bronstein and husband, Murray, of Goldsboro and Lida H. Webb and husband, Glen, of Gatesville; her brother, Heilig C. Hoffman of Kinston; her sisters-in-law, Remona H. Hoffman and Doris F. Hoffman, both of Kinston; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service on Thursday evening at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northview Baptist Church Building Fund, 600 Patetown Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Arrangements are by Garner Funeral Home in Kinston.
