SEVEN SPRINGS -- Debra Lyn Howell Best, 19, of 3523 NC 111 South, died Sunday.
Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Ray Howell III.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Donald Lane and her great-grandfather, Edward Howell Sr.
She is survived by a daughter, April Lyn Best of the home; her husband, David W. Best of Dudley; her mother and stepfather, Tammy and Bobby Mitchell of Seven Springs; her father, Gilbert Garris of Seven Springs; two half brothers, Justin and Eddie Howell of Calypso; a stepbrother, Adam Mitchell of Seven Springs; her maternal grandparents. Dean and Rusty Kennedy of Seven Springs; her paternal grandparents, Sonny and Gail Howell of Virginia; her great-grandmother, Elsie Howell of Mount Olive; and a special cousin, Susan Holland.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. T.C. West officiating. Burial will be Friday afternoon at 2 at the Lane Family Cemetery.
Family members will greet friends Thursday night immediately following the service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Tammy and Bobby Mitchell, 697 Greenfield Cemetery Road, Seven Springs, or at the home of Gilbert Garris, 3523 NC 111 South, Seven Springs.
