GRANGER WESTBROOK

BROWNS SUMMIT- Granger Allen Westbrook, 87, of 6036 Osceola-Ossipee Road, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at his home after a lengthy illness.

He was a native of Wayne County and the son of the late Luther Westbrook and the late Nora Britt Westbrook and is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Opal Busick Westbrook.

Mr. Westbrook was a retired partner of Shaw Reality and was a member of Brown Wesleyan Church and a member of the "Odd Fellows." He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II.

Survivors include his wife of the home, three daughters, Mary Grubbs and her husband, Donald, and Karen Wyrick all of Gibsonvile, and Geraldine Brown and her husband, Bill, of Browns Summit; a son, Danny Westbrook and his wife, Chris, of Browns Summit; eight grandchildren, Billie Jo Allen, Susan Church, Tina Chrissmon, Barry Brown, Gary Brown, Christopher Westbrook, Lauren Wyrick and Ashley Grubbs; one step-granddaughter, Emily Martinez; eight great grandchildren, Brandon Allen, Michael Allen, Ryan Church, Tonya Church, Shea Chrissmon, Olivia Brown, Jessica Brown and Luke Brown; two great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Jewel Daniels of Greensboro and Estelle Griffin of Florida; and two brothers, Frank Westbrook of Elon and Odell Westbrook of Gibsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Minnie Westbrook, Clarabelle Bordeaux and Inez Herring; and two brothers, Cleo and Daniel Westbrook.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Brown Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brown Wesleyan Church, 4355 High Rock Road, Gibsonville, N.C., 27249.
