KENANSVILLE -- Woodrow Wilson Brinson, 91, died Saturday, June 12, 2004.

The funeral will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m., with visitation immediately following, at Community Funeral Home in Warsaw with the Rev. Maynard "Bud" Quinn officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Golden Grove Cemetery in Kenansville.

A retired merchant and salesman, Mr. Brinson was a member of Kenansville Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Kenansville Fire Department, which was organized in 1953. He was also an avid gardener and fisherman.

A native of Duplin County, he was the son of Amos and Cora Brinson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Pollock Brinson; four brothers, Clifton Brinson, Amos Brinson, Maurice Brinson and Lester Brinson; two sisters, Annie Mae Blanton and Mavis Thigpen.

He is survived by one son, Woodrow "Woody" Brinson Jr., and daughter-in-law, Gail Brinson of Kenansville; daughter, Zelle "Polly" Jackson and son-in-law, Gene Jackson, of Oak Island; two brothers, Willard Brinson and Davis "Jack" Brinson of Kenansville; two sisters, Irene Miller of Beulaville and Florence Brown of Kenansville; two grandchildren, Karen Brinson Allen of Hendersonville and Kevin Brinson of Newark, Delaware.
