CLINTON -- Mrs. Joan Wheeler Peterson, 59, of 3140 Roanoke Rd., died Friday.
Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church, Newton Grove. The Rev. James Bailey and Dr. Dennise Sheppard will officiate. Burial will follow in Clinton City Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Gary L. Peterson; sons, Chris Peterson of the home and Jason Peterson of Rosewood; mother, Lula Pearl West of Newton Grove; sisters, Bobby Cass of Dunn and Patti Conn of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and 1 step-grandson.
Family will received friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. and other times, at her mother's home on 38 Jones Road, Newton Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vann's Crossroads Fire Department, Attn. Jeffery Tyler, 4550 Church Rd., Newton Grove, 28366.
