BRUCE HARDISON

SNOW HILL -- Bruce Gordon Hardison, 62, died Monday at Pitt Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

The funeral will be held tonight at 7 in the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with the Rev. Alan Joyner and the Rev. Phillip Wood officiating. Committal services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Snow Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hardison was a native of Greene County and was the son of the late William Arthur and Mollie Beadie Beaman Hardison. He was a tobacco farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Combs Hardison of the home; daughters, Cyndy Hardison Benton and husband Wayne, Beadie Hardison Moore and husband Ricky, and Jenny Hardison Blizzard and husband Dal, all of Snow Hill; a son, Bruce Hardison II of the home; grandchildren, McKayla Benton, Dylan Benton, Savannah Moore, Danielle Blizzard, Jena Blizzard and Lexi Blizzard; sisters, Mary Hardison and Selma Lanway of Snow Hill, Verna Jones of Delaware, Minnie Matthews of South Carolina and Kay Kearney and husband Richard of Goldsboro; brothers, Doc Hardison and wife irene of Fountain, Lloyd Hardison of Fountain, and Arthur Hardison and wife, Gertrude of Virginia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service tonight, and other times at the Hardison Family Homeplace, 2710 Beaman Old Creek Road, Snow Hill.
