Janet Lane Deans, 87, formerly of N. Seaboard St., died Tuesday at Sunbridge Rehabilitation Care in Mount Olive.
Homegoing services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church on Pearson Street. The Rev. Ezekiel Sutton will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Deans was the daughter of the late George and Luvenia Atkinson Lane. She was a member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church where she organized the Bible School Program and Just Us Club under Pastor D.M. Mitchell. She was a graduate of Dillard High School and was very active with the Dillard Alumni and Friends Organization.
She is survived by a daughter, Susie s. Watson of Washington, D.C.; one brother, Attorney Arthur Lane (Celeste) of Fayetteville; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until noon at Rhodes Funeral Home.
