CHARLES E. HARDY

LAGRANGE -- Charles Edward Hardy, 67, of 109 Club Road, died Wednesday in Asheville.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Hightower and the Rev. Fred Clifford officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Mr. Hardy was born in Craven County to the late Stephen Parker and Edna Carpenter Hardy. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and served 39 years in LaGrange as a pharmacist. He was a member of Community Baptist Church where he was serving as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He also was a member of Gideons International.

Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Hill Hardy; son, Tony Hardy of Harrisburg; daughter, Cindy Smith and husband, Richard, of Goldsboro; and a brother, Bob Hardy, and his wife, Peggy, of LaGrange.

The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service and at other times they will be at the home.
